Contest Entry for :iconthemermaidsclub:

I've been a member for a while and other than donating a prize art, I really haven't contributed in a while. They're having a merman contest right now and it sounded like fun.

Narwhal Whale Man
The jellyfish were the most fun.
The scanner killed my colors. The coloring looks so much messier on the computer, even after I worked for a long time to clean it up. Uggg. Oh well.

Copic marker and Faber-Castell brush pens on cardstock.
Artwork (c) me.
No use without permission.

Scanners slaughter art. Remember that.

That said, his tail is pretty fancy. I don't think I'd want to get on the bad side of that horn, though.

Wow, what a sense of imagination. Great job. Your scanner is probably picking up the white. You could scan and knock out the highlights to even it up but will make it darker. I think it looks great.

I know they do. :( Usually I can recover most of their evilness with photoshop now, but...I guess I can't fix everything.

Ha ha, the pretty tail is there to lure you in before he skewers you with the pointy horn.

Thanks. I didn't mean the colors are bad, they're just much better on the original than on the computer. It's frustrating.

Thanks!

You never know. I didn't expect anyone to start selling them in this area. It was a nice surprise.
